By using the Choose Brave website (choosebrave.org) or the Brave Check-In tool (the-brave-check-in.netlify.app), you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

Most importantly: Choose Brave is an educational program. We are not a therapy service, clinical provider, or crisis line. If you or your child are in immediate danger, call 911. For crisis support, call or text 988.

1. Who We Are

Choose Brave is a nonprofit charity operating under the name BRAVE — The Alex & Jon Project, based in Charleston, South Carolina. Our website and tools are operated by the Choose Brave team.

2. What Choose Brave Is — and Is Not

Choose Brave provides:

  • Educational content about youth mental health and family wellbeing
  • The Brave Check-In — a self-assessment awareness tool for parents and caregivers

Choose Brave does not provide:

  • Therapy, counselling, or any form of clinical treatment
  • Medical advice or diagnosis
  • Crisis intervention services
  • A substitute for professional mental health support
The Brave Check-In is not a clinical assessment. It is an awareness tool designed to help parents reflect on their child’s wellbeing. Results are not a diagnosis and should not be treated as one. If you have clinical concerns about your child, please consult a qualified health professional.
